“I
always know one day I’m coming here,
United States.”
|
This line is spit out by
the larger-than-life character of Tony Montana played
by Al Pacino in the first few introductory minutes
of the beyond-stellar movie Scarface. In my
opinion, the one thing that all great movies have in
common is that not only is every line from those movies
quotable but also highly applicable in our own day-to-day
experiences.
Unlike Mr. Montana here, I, as a half-Argentinian
half-Dutch, have already been to the USA three times
before along with my late twin brother and parents.
However, I did have a feeling I would again travel
from the country of windmills and cheeses to the lands
of so many buildings and burgers. Though never would
I have imagined that my fourth trip would be to Los
Angeles, California from the 22nd to the 29th of November
in the year 2004 to meet my partners in thunderous
crime. Both Mr. Montana and I start off with a clean
slate so let's just see which one of us has the better
experience in our quests for personal enrichment.
This narrative report chronicles the
events that have transpired during one awe-inspiring
week in the LA area and with all my heart I dedicate
this entire trip to my brother Michel whose
skill and spirit still inspire me. Now sit back, relax
and enjoy the ride…Twincruiser style!
